Here you will find original artworks of mine in drawing, painting, and textiles. Archival prints are available of many artworks. Each piece is a reflection of my thoughts and observations. As a friend once said, "For me, it is so much about the way we homestead via our subconsious relationship to physical space." Through my drawings, I strive to capture the intricate details of the world around us, bringing them to life on paper. My textile creations, are a fusion of colors, textures, and patterns, resulting in a unique visual representation of ideas. Fire Series
When I started making this imagery in my work, my mom said to me, "This is all the time you spent watching fires through your life." I grew up in the city of Buffalo and we heated our house with a wood stove and I started fires to warm up before school and again when I got home. Not to mention the countess hours spent in front of campfires as a child and even now. I tell my son the woodburning stove is the television of long ago.
Land
This beautiful landscape art portrays the experience of moving through the mountains and green forests. I was captivated by this experience when I spent some time in Tucson Arizona which is surrounded by 4 main mountain ranges. As we drove around the area, my friend would test me on where the ranges were. It was so disorienting and I would get lost on where I was and as I became familiar with the landscape and certain landmarks to determine my location I began to orient myself. I always sense we have lost this orientation with our natural world. I am always in search of this connection. Especially today as our earth heats up and burns.
